Alex Gary spent more than 22 years as a full-time journalist at newspapers in Beloit, Wisconsin, and Rockford, Illinois. He served as a reporter or editor in almost every subject matter, ranging from sports to crime, courts, government and education to business. He spent his final 10 years as a business editor, economic columnist and computer assisted reporting director. Gary remains a freelance journalist, while now serving as a consultant, doing alumni research and development for public school districts.
